Subaru Australia has released a new special edition WRXIntroducing a new yellow livery to celebrate the 60,000th Australian delivery of its iconic sports sedan.
The 2026 Subaru WRX Club Spec Evo is the Japanese brand’s latest limited edition model to launch in Australia. It brings a new Sunrise Yellow exterior color, “Club Spec Evo” stickers on the rear doors, matt black alloy wheels and Recaro sports bucket seats with yellow stitching.
It’s based on the flagship WRX tS Spec B, meaning the above features come in addition to equipment like gold Brembo brake calipers, adaptive damping tuned by Subaru’s in-house STI performance department, a six-speed manual gearbox and, of course, the huge STI-style rear wing.
Its price of Previously $63,190 On-road costs make it the most expensive WRX sedan to date, as it costs exactly $1,000 more than the tS Spec B. Prospective buyers will have to act quickly to secure one – only 75 examples are currently up for grabs in Australian showrooms.

The Club Spec Evo’s upgrades are similar to those of the BRZ tS Kiiro, 95 examples of which were brought to Australia in January 2026. Both feature Recaro sports seats, yellow interior stitching, matt black alloy wheels and the same Sunrise Yellow paint.
Like the BRZ, the new WRX special edition does not bring any mechanical improvements over the model on which it is based. As such, it is powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine producing 202kW of power and 350Nm of torque, with drive sent to all four wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.
Like every limited-edition Subaru, the Club Spec Evo also has a unique interior badge that commemorates the model number of the respective vehicle.
Importantly, this 60,000 unit milestone includes all WRX and Impreza WRX models sold in Australia since their introduction in 1994, but excludes the high-performance WRX STI. Subaru Australia celebrated the 70,000 unit sales milestone for the WRX and WRX STI in October 2025.

Although Sunrise Yellow is a new color, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a ‘Club Spec’ WRX for sale in Australia. Most recently, Subaru introduced 150 examples of the limited-edition WRX Club Spec in 2024, which preceded the tS Spec B.
There have also been Club Spec editions of each WRX and Impreza WRX generation since 1997, including a handful of Club Spec Evo versions of both the first and second generation Impreza WRX – only the “Bugeye” and “Blobeye” versions of the latter.
Traditionally, these special editions brought various cosmetic improvements but fell short of major mechanical and physical improvements beyond upgraded brakes and sportier seats. This excludes examples like the Club Spec 9 from 2006, which featured custom-made STI suspension, an STI front lip and a short-throw shifter.
The addition of Sunrise Yellow for the Australian WRX follows both the BRZ tS Kiiro and various other special edition Subarus wearing the same color overseas. These include the STI Sport R-Black Limited II STI Performance versions of the Levorg and WRX in Japan and the Series.Yellow versions of the BRZ tS and WRX tS in the USA.
