The Mini Cooper SE Paul Smith Edition is now available in Australia, where the all-electric special edition hatchback costs $60,990 (excluding on-road costs).
Based on battery operation Cooper SE As a three-door model, the unique electric hatch offers special design, color and accessory combinations, marking Mini’s collaboration with the English fashion house Paul Smith, which was founded in Nottingham more than 50 years ago.
Speaking of special edition with wallpaper In 2025, Paul Smith said, “I’ve seen ones where the designer literally just put his name and maybe a red line on the car.”
“I was determined not to do that; it would be embarrassing. But with a job like this you can’t build another car because you inherit the car that’s there. So first you have to like the car, and that’s what I do. Then you think, ‘What can I do?'”

It is the first production electric vehicle (EV) to emerge from Paul Smith’s collaboration with Mini, following the Mini Strip 2021 and Mini Strip Recharge 2022 concept cars.
It’s also the first production Mini to sport a Paul Smith badge since the 1998 original, and the first to be offered in Australia – although Mini hasn’t specified how many were given to local dealers.
“With concept cars you can misbehave a bit, but building a production car is very exciting,” added Mr Smith wallpaper.
Priced at $2,000 more than the standard Mini Cooper SE, the 2026 Paul Smith Edition is available in three exterior paint finishes – Inspired White, Statement Gray and Midnight Black II – each with “Nottingham Green” accents on the roof, grille surround and side mirror caps.
There are also green center caps for the standard 18-inch ‘Night Flash Spoke Black’ and ‘Dark Steel’ alloy wheels, while the mirrors also feature Paul Smith-style ‘Hello’ projector lamps.
Other exterior additions include Mini logos in black and blue, a Paul Smith emblem on the tailgate and the BMW-owned British brand’s signature multicolored stripes on the roof and on the center spoke of the steering wheel.
The interior also features a dark accent treatment with Paul Smith door inserts, a floor mat rivet with the Paul Smith “Rabbit” and blue stitching, vegan leather seats covered in Nightshade Blue Vescine, and door panels and dashboard trim made from recycled polyester.
And the panoramic glass roof – already standard on the Cooper SE – has been given a dark steel accent in the interior.
The powertrain and other features are unchanged from the regular Cooper SE, which is powered by a single 160kW/330Nm electric motor driving the front wheels and a 49.2kWh battery that offers a claimed range of 400km (WLTP).
It also has a claimed 0-100km/h acceleration time of 6.7 seconds and an ANCAP safety rating of five stars.
A total of 607 Mini Coopers were sold in Australia in the first three months of 2026 – 147 of which were electric – accounting for almost half of the small car brand’s 1370 sales.
With 159 sales in the first quarter of 2026, the small Aceman electric hatch is Mini’s best-selling electric vehicle so far this year.
