jump motor has revealed the warmed up Ultra Variant of this B05 hatchback on 2026 Beijing Motor Show.
Known in its home country as the Lafa 5 Ultra, the B05 Ultra has a 180kW/255Nm engine driving the rear wheels.
Buyers can choose between a 56.2 kWh battery with a CLTC range of 500 km or a 67.1 kWh battery with a range of 600 km, also to the more generous CLTC standard.

With the smaller battery, the Lafa 5 Ultra/B05 Ultra can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed 5.9 seconds, putting it in the hot hatch range. The 67.1 kWh variant weighs 85 kg more and tips the scales at 1750 kg. This extra weight means it takes another 0.3 seconds to reach the century mark. Both Ultra classes reach a top speed of 170 km/h.
For comparison, the base B05 Pro features a 132kW/175Nm motor, enabling 0-100km/h acceleration in 8.7 seconds, while the B05 Max uses a 160kW/240Nm motor to complete the 0-100km/h sprint in a claimed 6.4 seconds.
Regardless of the battery, the B05 Ultra rides with a retuned and lowered “Chinese-European” chassis and 19-inch light alloy wheels in Gunmetal Gray. These are fitted with 225/45 Hankook Ion Evo tires at the front and 235/45 rubber at the rear.
Externally, the B05 Ultra is distinguished by a body kit that includes a deeper front splitter and a larger rear wing as well as gray logos and emblems. There are only three color variants available: gray, green and yellow.
Inside, there are sport seats and faux suede upholstery for the seats, headliner and pillars, as well as a heated steering wheel, massaging front seats and yellow highlight upholstery.
Other standard features include a 12-speaker sound system, an advanced driver assistance system with LiDAR array, a 256-color ambient lighting system and a panoramic glass roof with electric sunshades.
While the regular B05 has been confirmed for export markets such as Australia, where it will go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year, Leapmotor has not yet made any official announcements about the Ultra’s availability outside of China.
However, at the global launch of the B10 small electric SUV last November, the Chinese brand’s global marketing and sales director Francesco Giacolone told the media that the hotter ultra-flagship, along with the standard B05, will go on sale in Australia in early 2027.
