Skoda Kodiaq recalled | Daily Sparkz

Volkswagen Group Australia has issued a nationwide product safety recall for the Skoda Kodiaq large SUV due to a manufacturing defect that could damage the side airbags in a crash.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the inner frame edge of the front seats may have been manufactured with improperly machined surfaces. As a result, the frame edge could damage the side airbags during deployment,” the recall notice states.

“In the event of an accident, improper deployment of the airbag may result in inadequate protection and increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”

In 2025, the Kodiaq overtook the smaller Kamiq SUV as the brand’s best-selling model in Australia, ahead of the Octavia sedan/estate.
