With the Moto G Stylus (2026), the stylus finally feels more powerful than the phone

Motorola’s stylus phone has always been a bit of an outlier – in a good way. While everyone else in the mid-range segment is busy chasing megapixels and benchmark scores, the Moto G Stylus (2026) continues to focus on something much more personal: handing you a stylus and asking, “What do you want to accomplish today?“But this year isn’t just about having a stylus; it’s about finally making it even smarter.”

The pen grows up and also takes on a personality

The built-in active pen now supports tilt and pressure sensitivity. This means sketching, doodling or just writing down shopping lists feels much closer to pen on paper. Motorola is also relying heavily on AI to make the pen feel more like a companion. Features like From sketch to picture (turn doodles into real pictures) and Handwriting calculator (Yes, it solves your doodling) Make it clear that this isn’t just about nostalgia for handwritten notes, but about making them useful again. And then there are little extras like Quick Clip for instant note sharing, drag-and-drop for images, and even zoom in with the mouse if your eyes need a little help. The pen also charges quickly and lasts long enough for everyday use.

What else is there?

Motorola obviously didn’t want the pen to overshadow everything else. Again, the camera system is great. You get a 50-megapixel main sensor with a Sony LYTIA 700C, supported by OIS and pixel technology that ensures shots stay sharp even when the lighting isn’t doing you any favors. There’s also a 13MP ultra-wide and macro combo, a 32MP selfie camera that adapts to group shots, and 4K video recording across all lenses. As for the display, this phone features a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1.5K and a peak brightness of up to 5000 nits.

Motorola is once again committed to longevity. The phone has IP68 and IP69 protection ratings and military-grade ruggedness. So it can withstand falls, dust, water and the occasional moment of clumsiness. The design itself is a bit more stylish this time, with a leather-inspired finish and Pantone-selected colors like Coal Smoke and Lavender Mist. I really love Motorola’s design game and I feel like no one can really beat it in the mid-range segment.

A 5200 mAh battery powers the whole thing and promises up to 44 hours of use. And if you do manage to drain the battery, you can get started again quickly with the 68W fast charging. The Moto G Stylus (2026) runs Android 16 and also features Google Gemini for AI-powered help with tasks like writing and planning.

The price for the Moto G Stylus (2026) is $499.99 Available in the US and available now April 16th on platforms such as Amazon, Best Buy and Motorola’s official website.
