The Motorola Razr Fold could finally go on sale next month

After unveiling the Razr Fold at CES 2026 and announcing the device at MWC 2026, Motorola lured potential buyers without giving a final launch date. But those who have been faithfully waiting can finally breathe a sigh of relief because the Razr Fold has a real launch date (but there’s a catch).

How much does the Razr Fold cost?

Motorola is now taking pre-orders for the Razr Fold in the UK and Europe. Delivery is confirmed for May 6, 2026, which represents a final launch date. For regions, the phone’s launch price is ₹1,799.99 (approximately $2,436) for the sole 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant.

To attract early adopters, the brand is also offering a free Moto Watch, Moto Buds Loop and an upfront discount of £220. This drops the effective price of the phone from £1,799.99 to £1,579.99 (around $2,138).

In my opinion, the price seems a little higher, especially as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, one of the best book-style foldables the market has ever seen, is available in the UK from £1,799 for the base variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

What does the Razr Fold offer?

However, Motorola is offering a ton of freebies, which makes the offer seem more attractive than it could be, especially for buyers who already own a smartwatch and TWS earbuds.

For the price, the Razr Fold offers an 8.1-inch foldable interior screen, a 6.6-inch cover display, runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (which isn’t Qualcomm’s top chip), and has a 6,000mAh battery that supports 80W wired fast charging.

The catch, however, is that Motorola has yet to announce an official pre-order or sales start date for interested buyers in the US. Whatever the case, we can look forward to the May 6th release date together and hope that something arrives for American buyers at the same time.
