If you’ve been looking for more reasons to love your Roku device, here’s a good one. Roku has quietly expanded the Roku Channel with six brand new free channels, available now on all Roku TVs and streaming players.
This latest addition further expands the platform’s already extensive library, which includes hundreds of live channels and thousands of on-demand titles.
What are the six new free channels on Roku?
Here’s the full list of what just landed on the Roku Channel:
- Channel 313: Rawhide
- Channel 314: The Beverly Hillbillies
- Channel 624: Ink Master
- Channel 815: Toso.o
- Channel 978: MTV in Spanish
- Channel 6036: Western
According to Cord Cutters, the new additions cover a really diverse mix of genres. Rawhide brings the iconic black and white western with a young Clint Eastwood in an early breakout role The Beverly Hillbillies delivers the popular 1960s sitcom about the oil-rich Clampett family’s adjustment to life in Beverly Hills.
Ink Master features back-to-back episodes of the high pressure tattoo competition series. Channel 6036 is a dedicated hub for classic western films and series. MTV in Spanish targets a Spanish-speaking audience with music videos and Latin American entertainment cough.o rounds off the series as the most mysterious addition to the group.
What else has Roku been doing lately?
This latest decline follows an already busy period for Roku. Last month, the platform added 16 new free channels and announced a partnership with Amazon Prime Video to offer its new subscription service Howdy to Prime Video subscribers.
Gil Fuchsberg, president of subscriptions, partnerships and business development at Roku, described the company’s focus on making great entertainment more accessible. With six more free channels now live, that mission appears to be well on its way.
