OnePlus’ upcoming budget phone will raise the bar for Apple and Samsung’s mid-range smartphones

OnePlus could soon launch a budget phone that could seriously threaten other brands’ so-called feature-rich midrange. The company has already launched the teaser campaign for the mobile phone in India, releasing cryptic images of a smartphone silhouette and the tagline “An early entry into the Northern Era.”

The rumored Nord 6 phone could outshine other mid-range models, at least that’s what the leaked specs suggest. Before we talk about the hardware upgrades, it’s important to note that the Nord 6 is believed to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Turbo 6, only available in China.

So what’s actually in the upcoming OnePlus midranger?

However, let’s go through all the leaked specs of the Nord 6 one by one. Firstly, the upcoming smartphone could have a 9,000mAh battery that supports 80W wired charging.

Currently, the OnePlus 15R holds the crown for the company’s largest battery smartphone, but it may not hold that position for much longer.

To give you an overview: 9,000 mAh is almost as large as the combined battery capacity of the new Galaxy S26 Ultra and the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The Nord 6’s battery could actually provide a screen-on time of more than 12 to 14 hours between charges, making it a two-day battery phone for most users.

Many of you have asked about this.

Improved specifications could lead to a significant price increase

On the performance front, the handset will offer a significant jump in performance thanks to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 (4nm) chipset. Its GPU is powerful enough to support high frame rate gaming.

For taking pictures, the smartphone could be equipped with a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization and a 16 MP selfie shooter. Finally, the OnePlus Nord 6 could also feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen that supports a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz.

However, any improved specs could lead to a significant increase in the price of the phone. The Nord 6 could be priced around $500 in India, where it is confirmed to launch in early April. However, a start in the USA is still questionable.
