Logitech G has launched the RS H-Shifter, a 7-speed manual shifter designed for sim racers who want to deliver a real car driving experience with their setup. It’s available today for $159.99.
If you’ve ever driven a manual transmission car, you know that there’s something deeply satisfying about shifting gears yourself. The RS H Shifter is based on this feeling and the company says it has gone to great lengths to ensure that every gear change feels deliberate and noticeable.
Does it actually simulate real driving?
Logitech says its custom 7-speed mechanism allows for precise engagement, ensuring each gear is very close to that of a real car. It is not only precise but also durable. The RS H Shifter is made of aluminum, steel and high-strength plastic and is designed to withstand intense, extended gaming sessions.
Like modern premium controllers, the RS H Shifter features non-contact Hall effect sensors based on magnetic field detection rather than physical contact. This means that no mechanical wear occurs over time and shifts do not deteriorate after thousands of hours of use.
There’s also a push-through lock for reverse and 7th gear, adapted from real transmissions, so you don’t accidentally shift into the wrong gear during a high-pressure lap.
Does it work with your current setup?
Most likely yes. The RS H-Shifter connects directly to Logitech’s RS50 or PRO wheels without the need for adapters. Console racers on PS5, PS4 and Xbox can connect via the Logitech G Racing Adapter.
PC users can also connect it directly via USB, making it compatible with non-Logitech devices too. It works with both professional sim rigs and desk setups, making it compatible with almost all existing gaming setups.
You can also customize the shift knob or add shaft extensions to achieve the perfect ergonomics for your setup. The RS H-Shifter is available now at LogitechG.com and authorized resellers. If you are interested in racing games, you should definitely give it a try.
