It is the fifth recall notice for the Transit Custom in the last 12 months and is being referred to as a Field Service Action (FSA) by Ford Australia as it is a voluntary action and not a safety recall.
Transit Custom’s most recent recall occurred in December due to a gas leak and affected the 7509 Transit Customs and the passenger version of the van, the Ford Tourneo People Mover.
The Transit Custom was also one of 29,874 Fords recalled in Australia in June 2025 due to a rear-view camera issue that affected the automaker’s vehicles globally, as well as its best-selling Ranger and Everest here globally.
For the latest recall, Ford Australia said it would write to the owners of the affected vehicles.
