According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is testing a dedicated Siri app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. This app aims to compete with the latest AI assistants while giving you a central place to manage conversations.
The interface shows your past chats in a list or grid with previews for each conversation. An eye-catching button lets you pin important chats, browse older ones, and start new conversations.
Within a conversation, the layout is similar to messages, with chat bubbles and a text entry field. You can switch between voice and text and even upload files like documents or photos for Siri to analyze.
The app also suggests prompts based on your previous activity, making it feel more personal. It adapts to light and dark modes, keeping the design consistent with the rest of iOS.
Deeper app controls and smarter AI under the hood
The report also mentions that Apple is expanding its App Intents system, which allows Siri to more precisely control actions within Apple and third-party apps.
Over time, this would allow you to navigate apps using your voice, such as scrolling through menus or triggering actions without touching the screen.
These features are supported by updated Apple Foundation models combined with Google Gemini technology. If Apple gets this right, Siri could finally feel like a modern AI assistant that keeps up with the actual use of your phone.
