Samsung Galaxy owners get even more customization options and leave the iPhone and Pixel in the dust

If you want to customize your phone’s on-screen appearance and currently own a Samsung Galaxy device, you may want to check out a new update.

Samsung has pushed an upgrade to the Theme Park module in the Good Lock app, allowing Galaxy phone owners to tinker with the themes, colors and overall aesthetic of the One UI 8 operating system.

Most Galaxy owners should be able to try out the new features available in this update, but some are unique to the One UI 8.5 update, which is slowly rolling out to supported devices.

Multiple changes to immerse yourself in

SamMobile notes that the update – version 1.1.01.38 – brings a number of changes. The first of these is a bookmark feature that allows you to mark your favorite topics to easily switch between the topics you like the most. When viewing a topic, tapping the heart icon in the top corner of the screen will add it to your bookmarks.

Editing icons has also become easier as Samsung has improved the interface around this tool by dividing it into three different sections; Shape, effects and symbol.

And related to that, there’s a new icon effect called Emboss (added depth) and an icon option called Monochrome (for a clean, minimalist finish), both of which can change the appearance of your app icons. Additionally, according to Samsung’s changelog, the quick panel icon preview has also been updated.

And finally, the feature is only available to users of Samsung Galaxy phones with One UI 8.5: You can now customize the color of the notification icons on the home screen to ensure they match the rest of your theme.

Samsung’s continued focus on improving the customization of its phones sets the company apart from stock Android on Pixel devices, and even though Apple introduced a variety of customization features with iOS 26, it still lags behind Samsung.

If you have a Galaxy phone, check the Galaxy Store to see if the Good Lock app update is available for you. If yes, click “Download” and you will be trying out these new features in no time.
