2026 BYD Seal 6 price and specifications

BYD is rapidly expanding its local offerings and the Seal 6 appears as a new plug-in hybrid car series (PHEV).

The Seal 6 is available as either a sedan or a station wagon (Touring) and can be ordered now. Priced at $34,990 before on-roads as a sedan or $39,990 before on-roads as an estate, the Seal 6 is Australia’s most affordable PHEV sedan and estate.

Additionally, the Seal 6 sedan is $5,000 cheaper than the similarly sized Toyota Camry, which uses a traditional hybrid powertrain.

It narrowly misses out on being the cheapest PHEV of any kind Down Under, with another BYD – the mid-size SUV Sealion 5 Essential – undercutting it by just $1,000.

The Seal 6 Touring is not only Australia’s cheapest PHEV wagon, but also the cheapest wagon available here.

There’s a significant price increase of $5,000 compared to the sedan, but that brings more power, more features and a longer electric range.
