2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL680: Ultra-luxury V8 roadster arrives in Australia and it ain’t cheap

Mercedes-Benz brought this onto the market 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL680 in Australia, where the German premium car brand’s new flagship roadster is now available at this price $463,900 before on-road costs.

This makes the first Maybach version of the SL the most expensive model Mercedes-Benz currently offers in Australia, apart from the Mercedes-Maybach S680 sedan, which cost $573,192 before on-road launch.

As a result, the fourth Maybach-badged model for sale here will be more expensive than the lower-performance V8-powered Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 large SUV ($409,900 plus ORCs) and the Mercedes-Maybach EQS680 large electric SUV ($331,600 plus ORCs).

The SL680 stands at the top of the SL range and is considered the sportiest Mercedes-Maybach model to date. It combines the same V8 engine power as the Mercedes-AMG SL63 ($383,700 plus ORCs), but offers even more open luxury and a large helping of bespoke details.

At the heart of the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680, first revealed in August 2024 and then confirmed for Australia in October 2024, is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine producing 430kW of power and 800Nm of torque.

Power is transmitted to all four wheels via Mercedes-Benz’s 4Matic+ all-wheel drive, enabling the luxury roadster to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed 4.1 seconds.
