After being intended for console gamers for far too long, Hades 2 is finally coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Supergiant Games has just confirmed that the acclaimed roguelike sequel is launching on April 14th, with the Xbox version also coming to Game Pass on the same day.
This is a pretty big moment for fans of the franchise, whose main gaming platform is consoles. The very first sequel to Supergiant was released back in September 2025 and became the best-reviewed game of 2025 on both Metacritic and OpenCritic.
What to expect from this hyped launch
The studio not only ports the game to consoles, but even adds a few additional details. Supergiant says that Hades 2 on Xbox Series PS5 and Xbox editions of the game will also include bonus content and quality of life improvements that the team has been working on for some time.
Therefore, existing players will also receive these additions along with a patch releasing on the same day.
Why this is a big win for console gamers
Supergiant also took the opportunity to highlight the various awards presented to the game as part of this announcement. The game has received a long list, including Best Action Game at the Game Awards and DICE Awards, as well as Best Game on Steam Deck at the Steam Awards and Best Foreign Game at the Pégases Awards.
All of this only made the wait even more difficult for players who weren’t playing on PC or Nintendo platforms. As PlayStation becomes a more cohesive platform, these developers share the joy.
