The BMW 7 Series The facelift is expected to make its debut in the not-too-distant future as the automaker announces the car’s revised lighting signature and leaked images surface online.
Last week, BMW posted an image on Instagram showing the graphics of the facelift’s daytime running lights and illuminated double-kidney grille.
This week, CarSpyShots.net posted two candid photos of the facelifted 7 Series on its Facebook page. These were apparently secretly taken at a preview event and show a pretty significant makeover to the front end of the sedan.

Anyone hoping for a conservative redesign of the 7 Series will be disappointed, as the Bavarian automaker places emphasis on the large sedan’s eye-catching appearance. BMW has previously stated that the bold look is necessary for the Chinese market, where more expressive designs help convey status and wealth.
The facelift continues with split headlights, although this time the main headlight unit has been slimmed down and is now hidden in a black vertical section that also houses the side air intakes.
The double kidney grille with an illuminated frame is also available here. The shape of the grille itself has become slightly squarer and taller than before, while the rest of the front bumper has a blockier surface.
Also new is the hood, which has received an additional pair of folds that extend upwards from the inner edge of the driving lights. The central ridge is more sharply defined and looks like it continues to the grille on all trim levels.
Unfortunately, no candid images of the side and rear have surfaced yet, but based on the heavily camouflaged prototype spotted in July 2024, we don’t expect any sheet metal changes along the flanks.
There could be revisions to the trunk, possibly with taillights that tie the 7 Series more closely to the just-unveiled i3 sedan.
BMW has not yet revealed any details about the car’s interior or powertrain. We expect the updated 7 Series to come with the company’s latest infotainment system as well as trim and design tweaks to the cabin.
There will likely be some minor updates to the petrol, plug-in hybrid and diesel powertrains. Should there be any major powertrain revisions, they will likely be applied to the electric i7 range.
The Bavarian brand has not yet publicly announced a date for the unveiling of the facelift, saying only that it will be “soon”.
