If you haven’t seen it yet The comeback, Now the time has come. The series finale aired on Sunday, May 10, meaning all three seasons are now available to stream on HBO Max.
We spoke to the cast ahead of this season’s premiere at SXSW. In addition to our ever popular Texas This or That Challenge, we also took a minute to talk about the 90s. The main character Valerie Cherish (played by Lisa Kudrow) was a sitcom star in the 90s who constantly reinvents herself, hence the title: The comeback. So we asked each cast member if they could bring something from the ’90s, what would it be?
Let’s start with Kudrow. At first she wasn’t sure of the answer, but then it came to her. “Jokes. Remember?” she said. “You were allowed to say things and it was just a joke, so it was OK.”
Ella Stiller may not have been around in the ’90s, but her parents were. In case you don’t know, she is the daughter of Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor. “My parents were all about the ’90s,” she said. “All that talk about the ’90s. It sounds like it was just fun!” She further said that she likes the 90s hairstyles.
Speaking of hairstyles, Damian Young, who plays Kudrow’s husband on the show, said he would like to keep his hair pulled back. Co-star Jack O’Brien said the same thing.
But it was Dan Bucatinsky who had the best answer. He said: Friends. “Can I say this,” he asked. We couldn’t pass up asking him about his favorite girlfriend – other than Phoebe, of course. His answer: Monica.
Regard The comeback on HBO Max.
