Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Australia has issued a nationwide product safety recall for certain versions of its current model defender Off-road SUV as the third row seat belt anchor brackets may fail.
“The seat belt anchor bracket at the bottom left and right of the third row may contain a weld stud of insufficient strength. As a result, the seat belt may not function as intended,” JLR Australia’s recall notice said.
“An inadequate weld stud could result in the restraint system not functioning as designed in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury or death to occupants.”
