How to set up and customize your phone card on an Android phone

Android phones now let you personalize your appearance on a call using the Calling Card feature in the Google Phone app. Instead of a simple contact photo, you can create a full-screen visual map to display during a call.

You can add a photo, customize the appearance on the screen, and customize the name style that appears when you call someone or when they call you. The feature is part of a recent update to the Phone app and works on devices with version 182 and above.

Once a business card is created, the image and text style will appear on incoming and outgoing calls, and even when the device is locked.

How to set up a calling card

Follow these steps to create your business card.

  • Open that phone app.
  • If you see one Introduction of the calling card Tap the banner at the top of the screen Get started. Alternatively, you can tap Menu icon and select Settings > vocation Map
  • Knock Add and select the contact for which you want to create a business card.
  • Select a photo from Gallery, Google Photos or your camera.
  • To adjust, you can adjust the image by moving it or pinching to zoom until it fits in the preview. To add effects to the image, tap Effects.
  • Knock Next Once the photo is positioned correctly.
  • Choose the font style and color for the contact name.
  • Knock Completed to complete the creation of the map.

Once saved, the custom screen will appear whenever that contact calls you or when you call them.

How to update a calling card

You can edit or replace your business card at any time.

  • Open that phone App and select one contact.
  • Knock Edit > Change > Change Business card.
  • Choose a photo from Gallery, Google Photos, or your camera.
  • Update photo position, font style and color or add effects.
  • Save the changes.

Calling Cards make your Android calling screen feel more personal and allow you to quickly identify contacts during a call.

Google is also testing new privacy tools for contacts, including a feature in Android 17 that aims to keep your contact information more private during calls and interactions.
