Chongqing Changan Automobile Co Ltd has issued a nationwide product safety recall for the Deepal E07 2025 “Multitruck” because there may not be a center rear child seat anchor point.
Last week, Deepal Australia confirmed this Daily Sparkz It had “temporarily paused sales and deliveries of the MY25 E07 to complete necessary compliance work.”
Then, earlier this week, the company sent an email to existing owners of its large five-seat SUV — which can be transformed into something of a pickup truck by sliding the rear glass roof forward and lowering the tailgate — confirming that the issue was related to ADR 34/03 (Child Restraint System Anchors), which requires an upper tether anchor point at every seatbelt-equipped rear seat.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear center seat may not have been equipped with a child restraint anchor point as required by Australian Design Rule (ADR) 34/03 – Anchors and Anchoring Fittings for Child Restraints. Therefore, a child seat restraint cannot be safely installed,” Deepal said in its recall notice.
“If the baby or child seat is not installed securely in the event of an accident or heavy braking, the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants may increase.”

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Deepal and asked to immediately make an appointment with their preferred authorized Deepal dealer to have the work carried out free of charge.
However, it is understood that Deepal has not yet procured the components required to carry out the necessary corrective work.
