The EliteBook

At CES 2026, HP officially unveiled its new EliteBook X G2 series, a premium business laptop line designed for AI-powered workflows. The range stands out from the rest as customers can choose between their preferred processing platforms: AMD, Intel or Qualcomm. Additionally, buyers can choose between the traditional notebook and a convertible form factor.

At the top of the range is the HP EliteBook. Additionally, the laptop features a 14-inch 3K OLED screen with 120Hz VRR (optional), up to 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe storage.

Your next work laptop could be smarter, lighter and convertible

Then there’s the EliteBook X G2i, which is based on the Intel Core Ultra 3 series and offers NPU performance of up to 50 TOPS. The laptop is configurable with a 14-inch 3K OLED screen with 120Hz VRR, 64GB LPDDR5X RAM and 2TB PCIe storage. However, its entry-level versions weigh under 1 kilogram, making them one of the lighter business laptops.

The EliteBook X G2i is also available in a convertible variant called the EliteBook X Flip G2i. While other specs remain the same, the Flip version features a detachable screen casing that transforms into a tablet when separated from the keyboard base. You can also use the device in laptop, tent or stand mode.

Last but not least, there is the EliteBook X G2a, which relies on the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 470 processor (up to 55 TOPS NPU performance). Other specifications such as screen size, technology, refresh rate, available memory and storage are similar to the other two EliteBook models we have reviewed so far.

All models ship with Windows 11 Pro and all Copilot+ features as standard. Additionally, they promise all-day battery life, which could be a key concern for many buyers. The new series is a departure from the usual one-size-fits-all business laptop strategy and replaces it with a flexible, democratic range of AI-enabled devices tailored to different types of users.

Elsewhere at CES 2026, HP also unveiled the new Omnibook Ultra 14 and a new keyboard PC.
