The stylish Vocci smart ring aims to archive your life, one audio clip at a time

Smart rings are rapidly evolving beyond the realm of health and wellness tracking. Companies like Samsung and Oura have focused on biosensing, while newcomers like 7Ring are turning them into contactless payment devices. At CES 2026, a new wearable brand called Gyges Labs is showcasing a different side to smart rings, essentially turning them into an AI-powered note taking device.

What sets this apart?

There is no shortage of AI-powered voice recorders these days. The Plaud Note is quite powerful, and so is the brand’s portable trailer, which is aimed at the same task. Gyges Labs’ Vocci smart ring takes the concept and places it on your finger. This smart ring supports hand gestures and there is also a physical button to trigger shots.

With a single click, the Vocci Smart Ring begins taking summarized notes on the most important moments of a conversation. A double-tap gesture, on the other hand, puts it into full voice recording mode. The companion software can distinguish and accurately label speakers in the AI-generated transcript.

The software also creates so-called Smart AI summaries. The ring, which is made of hypoallergenic metal material and is water-repellent, also ensures that recordings remain confidential with an encryption layer. The overarching idea here is that instead of taking written notes or manually digging through an app, you can just tap the ring and get the job done.

A stylish variant of AI recorders

Once the recorded audio is processed, the companion mobile app also converts the transcribed material into actions and insights, allowing users to receive a quick summary and key highlights of their past conversations. The app also features a tagging system for easy searching and allows users to create folders.

The recording architecture is based on software-based noise isolation technology. The Vocci Smart Ring supports transcription in over 112 languages. It lasts up to 8 hours on a single charge, while the accompanying case can store enough charge for three additional rounds. There is currently no price for the Vocci smart ring, but this is expected to be announced in the coming months.
