One of Porsche’s most famous creations is celebrating a milestone.
While I’m sure we can all agree that the Porsche Carrera GT is currently considered a legendary supercar among collectors and enthusiasts and is now worth well over $2 million, it has become something of a Cinderella story for Stuttgart’s V10 masterpiece. Perhaps considered ahead of its time, the Carrera GT became a collector’s classic for drivers who craved the ultimate analogue driving experience. However, it aged like a fine wine as it established itself in the automotive world.
Now, 25 years after its concept debut in September 2000, the Carrera GT is receiving its well-deserved recognition as Porsche celebrates its 25th anniversary with an exclusive lifestyle collection designed by French collector, streetwear designer and, above all, Porsche purist Arthur Kar.
To celebrate the anniversary, Kar delved into the Porsche and PUMA Motorsports archives to design and curate a capsule collection that celebrates the rise of the Carrera GT and its continued influence on the future of supercars. The unisex collection features head-to-toe styles including racing zip-up jackets, t-shirts and accessories, all with embroidered Carrera GT emblems and silhouettes. And while we wait until release day to get the full scope of the entire lineup, the special edition PUMA Motorsports Speedcat Pro sneakers have to be the highlight of the collection. Featuring Porsche and Carrera GT elements that make them instant collector’s items, there’s no better way to celebrate a car than with one of the world’s most popular driving shoes.
As we patiently wait for the expected launch on Thursday, September 25th at 11:00 a.m. ESTThe Carrera GT 25th Anniversary Collection will sell out quickly, so buyers better be prepared. Check back with Daily Sparkz tomorrow morning for information on how to purchase the Arthur Kars Porsche Carrera GT capsule collection.
