In 2026 we could see the first dual 200MP camera phones, but not from Samsung or Apple

After Oppo demonstrated its camera qualities with the recently released Find According to a new leak, the company could equip the device with an even more powerful camera system that could seriously compete with Apple and Samsung.

In a recent post on Weibo, tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the Find X9 Ultra will feature dual 200MP cameras. Rumor has it that the device’s 200-megapixel main camera will offer better low-light performance than a 1-inch sensor, while the 200-megapixel periscope zoom camera could enable higher-resolution telephoto shots.

In addition to these two massive sensors, the Find If this leak proves true, Oppo’s next-generation flagship could be one of the best camera phones of 2026.

The Find X9 Ultra is expected to launch in April next year and will offer premium performance with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Oppo has already confirmed that it will have a huge battery with a rated capacity of more than 7,000 mAh.

Oppo won’t be alone in the dual 200 MP camera club

Recent leaks suggest that Vivo is targeting the same setup for its upcoming X300 Ultra and could be the first OEM to bring this innovation to market. Its flagship is also expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and a 6.8-inch 2K display.

More Chinese OEMs are likely to follow suit, potentially pushing Apple and Samsung to step up their game. Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra is currently rumored to bring minimal improvements on the camera front, retaining the 200MP main, 50MP ultra-wide and 50MP telephoto sensors like last year’s model, while replacing the 10MP 3x telephoto camera with a new sensor.
