The last jaguar The use of an internal combustion engine rolled off the assembly line in Solihull, England, last Friday as the company rebuilds itself as a pure electric vehicle brand.

The final vehicle was a black F-Pace SVR – powered by a 5.0 liter V8 supercharged petrol engine – the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club This was given to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust in Gaydon.

There has been no official announcement from Jaguar following the final build, which marks the end of all of the company’s gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles, although Jaguar says it has enough F-Pace inventory to carry it through 2026.

As part of the larger Tata-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) group, Jaguar announced its bold plan to become a pure electric vehicle brand back in 2021.

Many competitors made similar announcements at the time or planned to sell predominantly electric vehicles (EVs), such as: Mercedes Benz And Volvohave since scaled back previous targets after EV rollouts were slower than expected.

This has also led to the European Union’s plans to effectively ban sales of new internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles by 2035 being recently weakened, opening the door for further sales of internal combustion engines and hybrid engines.

In an effort to transition to electric vehicles, Jaguar unveiled the first taste of its electric rebirth with the 2024 Type 00 Concept and accompanying logo and marketing changes, which sparked heavy criticism online.
