Ram Trucks Australia is recalling its 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks to fix two separate problems: an airbag gas pump problem and an instrument cluster problem.
The Ram 1500 DS is affected by the airbag inflator problem.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the left and right head airbag inflators may rupture unexpectedly,” the company says in the recall notice.
“If an airbag inflator ruptures, pressurized gas and metal fragments can be propelled through the airbag cushion toward vehicle occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.”

“Loss of safety system warnings while driving could increase the risk of an unforeseen accident, which could result in injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
