Geely Auto Australia has confirmed it will launch its first non-SUV model in the form of a compact battery-electric hatchback in the second half of 2026.
The Geely EX2 is expected to arrive Down Under in the second half of next year. Further details will be announced ahead of its local launch.
Currently we know that the city-sized electric vehicle is 4135mm long, 1805mm wide and 1580m high. while the wheelbase is 2650mm – for reference, a Volkswagen Golf is 4282mm long and has a wheelbase of 2631mm.

The EX2, also known as the Xingyuan (or Star Wish) in China, is based on the same Global Intelligent Electric Architecture (GEA) as the larger EX5 and Starray EM-i SUVs already sold in Australia.
According to Geely, the Xingyuan is the best-selling vehicle in China so far this year, with over 400,000 units sold in the 12 months since its launch and 50,000 units in September 2025.
The Chinese brand says the EX2 “demonstrates exceptional use of interior space,” with more than 30 “judiciously placed” storage compartments spread throughout the vehicle, including a “trunk” under the hood.
While pricing and specifications have yet to be confirmed, Geely’s aggressive pricing strategy with its midsize SUVs suggests a very sharp entry point for the EX2 – possibly in the high $20,000 to low $30,000 range. This would make it significantly lower than the starting price MG4 (from $37,990 in-car) and within striking distance of the new BYD Atto 2 (from $31,990).
