The World Sea Lion 7 may be one of Australia’s best-selling electric vehicles (EVs), but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a good deal on it.
BYD Australia has announced a $4,000 cashback offer on the entry-level Sealion 7 Premium, available on vehicles ordered between December 1st and 14th, 2025, provided you receive delivery by December 31st.
Unlike other offers, you cannot apply this cashback as a discount towards the purchase price of the vehicle, which is $54,990 before on-road costs.

If you purchase a Sealion 7 Premium instead, you will receive payment after you receive it. The amount also cannot be exchanged for products, accessories or service plans or saved for later.
Offer not valid on fleet, government or rental agency purchases and demonstration vehicles are also excluded. The offer cannot be combined with others.
The Sealion 7 is now Australia’s second best-selling electric vehicle, behind rival Tesla Model Y. As of the end of November, BYD had delivered 10,864 examples of the mid-size electric SUV that the company launched here earlier this year; Tesla, on the other hand, delivered 20,241 Model Ys.
The BYD is offered in both the Premium variant with single-motor rear-wheel drive and the Performance variant with two-motor all-wheel drive.
The Premium features an 82.56kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and a 230kW/380Nm electric motor, giving it a range of 482km on the WLTP cycle and a claimed 0-100km/h acceleration of 6.7 seconds.
