Genesis introduces production GV60 Magma

After a decade of luxury, Genesis officially begins performance.

Genesis became a household name in the automotive luxury space practically overnight, from popular luxury sedans to incredibly popular SUV models, and that’s just the story so far. With solid engineering, luxurious features and cutting-edge technology, Genesis has succeeded in one of the most competitive areas of the automotive industry. However, after a decade of luxury dominance, Genesis has sparked anticipation for a new era, with a performance grand piano in the mix.

For some time now, the manufacturer has been presenting several concept cars that have aroused anticipation for the brand’s new Magma performance department. Not only concepts were created for performance-oriented versions of existing Genesis models, but also unique concepts such as the Genesis X Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo. In addition, Genesis Magma is taking to the race track with a new endurance hypercar that is scheduled to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2026.

Now the Genesis Magma department has officially given the starting signal: The new production version of the Genesis GV60 Magma will be presented at the Circuit Paul Ricard. As the first production model to bear the Magma name, the unveiling of the new GV60 Magma marks the official start of a new era for Genesis, one defined by high performance.

The all-electric GV60 will be equipped with tons of Magma-exclusive features such as a wider stance, revised design and lower ride height compared to the standard car, as well as exclusive 21-inch wheels, a functional rear wing, an exclusive steering wheel design and of course 609 horsepower. When boost mode is activated, the output increases to 650 hp. Launch control, performance-oriented driving modes, wide tires, a virtual shifting system, drift mode and high-performance battery control underline the committed performance-oriented character of the new GV60 Magma. With a new production performance model bearing the Magma badge, Genesis ends its first decade ready to embark on a new, exciting chapter and achieve even greater success as a manufacturer.
