Rolls-Royce interprets the gaming world with its signature sense of opulence.
Rolls-Royce, and in particular the creations of its Rolls-Royce Bespoke artisans and craftsmen, are known for producing some of the most lavish and uncompromisingly luxurious vehicles in the entire automotive industry. Whether they are ultra-exclusive, limited-edition Rolls-Royce models designed to celebrate a milestone or cultural moment, or personal commissions that offer expression or tell a family story through stunning design, Rolls-Royce custom-built vehicles are some of the most incredible vehicles in the world.
The latest model is the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Gamer, a unique commission for a customer whose love of old-school arcade video games served as the main inspiration for the car. The iconic images of 8-bit video games from the ’80s are featured in the stunning custom-made commission, and the designers used incredibly creative solutions to showcase the client’s love for arcade games.
The exterior features a two-tone finish that combines Salamanca Blue and Crystal over Diamond Black. Created by Rolls-Royce Bespoke designers, the Cheeky Alien motif is featured on the exterior, hinting at the stunning bespoke design within. In this interior, the same motif is embroidered on the headrests, and the embroideries “Player 1” and “Player 2” are also applied to the two front seats.
The all-over pixel embroidery is reminiscent of the designs of 8-bit games, with the waterfall on the back also echoing this design. Meanwhile, a custom-made “Pixel Blaster” Starlight Headliner design transforms the car’s ceiling into a carefully recreated design of a classic ’80s arcade game. Completing the interior design are custom-made kick plates with classic arcade gaming phrases, complemented by the same pixelated letters seen throughout: “PRESS START,” “LOADING…”, “LEVEL UP,” and “INSERT COIN.” Overall, the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost “Gamer” Commission is both an ultra-luxurious, bespoke oasis and an ode to a classic retro pastime.
