MG Motor Australia is offering runout savings on its cheapest electric hatchback as it prepares to downsize MG4 product range and introduce a new budget-friendly MG 4 Urban.
The base MG 4 Excite 51, which is dropped along with all MG 4 variants with 51kWh and 77kWh batteries, is now available nationwide for $37,990 in-car.
According to MG’s website, the deal reduces the drive-away price by $365 to $2,526.
All MG 4s sold before December 31, 2025 will also come with a 12-month/1000 kWh Evie charging network voucher.

Premium paint remains a $700 option.
While the price of the base model MG 4 is higher than before, it was offered for much less.
The MG 4 launched in Australia in 2023 and was priced from $38,990 (excluding on-road costs).
In September and October 2024, MG offered the MG 4 Excite 51 for just $30,990 in-car. At the same time, MG offered factory bonuses between $5,000 and $8,000. These deals increased MG 4 sales by 97.9 percent year-on-year.
The price was increased to $32,990 for the car later in the year.
By the end of October this year, MG had delivered 2,756 MG4s – 47.6 percent fewer than in the same period last year.
MG will tackle the small electric car segment with two different offerings next year.
The current rear-wheel drive MG 4 will survive, with “updated features” but only with the mid-range 64kWh battery.
This includes the new MG 4 Urban with front-wheel drive, which is available with either 43 kWh or 54 kWh batteries and a 120 kW/250 Nm electric motor.
It features a softer design, is slightly larger overall and rides on a different platform with a less sophisticated torsion beam rear suspension.
