Honda the refreshed will hasten ZR-V SUV hits Australian showrooms this May, just two months after it went on sale revealed for the first time in Japan.
The key innovations for the 2026 ZR-V include design changes, deeper Google integration and the abandonment of turbo petrol engines in favor of a pure hybrid range. However, it is unclear at this stage which changes will be applied to models in the Australian market.
With this in mind, Honda Australia President and CEO Jay Joseph has hinted at what to expect.
“ZR-V coming next month, similar updates to CR-V,” said Mr. Joseph Daily Sparkz at the launch of the updated CR-V.

The revised CR-V range includes four hybrid options instead of just one. So it’s safe to assume Honda is also preparing to introduce additional petrol-electric variants of the ZR-V to slot under the flagship e:HEV LX – currently priced at $54,900 per car.
That would be in line with Honda’s plan to increase the number of hybrid variants available for its HR-V small SUV and Civic, and help it combat the best-selling Toyota RAV4.
It remains to be seen whether the 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine will disappear from the ZR-V completely, as is the case in Japan.
Australian ZR-Vs are also likely to adopt Google Built-in with embedded Google apps such as Google Maps and Google Assistant, which is included in both the JDM ZR-V and the updated CR-V.
Three new exterior colors are available in Japan: Twilight Mist Black Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic and Seabed Blue Pearl.
The above styling tweaks are spread across the ZR-V range and include fresh alloy wheel designs, a new honeycomb grille, gloss black exterior accents, door skid plates and a more aggressive front bumper design with faux bumper plates.
Honda sold 3940 ZR-Vs in Australia last year, making it the brand’s third most popular model behind the family-friendly CR-V (5595 sales) and the smaller HR-V (4817).
