2026 Kia PV5 Cargo is considered Australia’s cheapest electric van

The Kia PV5 Cargo is priced from $55,990 before on-road costs in Australia, making it the cheapest electric van available locally.

The PV5 Cargo S Long Range will initially be offered in a single version and will be available in showrooms from the end of May 2026. Further variants are to follow.

The high price undercuts the $61,990 Peugeot e-Partnerbut is also below the larger LDV eDeliver 7 (from $69,463 before on-road launch) and the similarly sized Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo (from $69,990 excluding on-road use).

The PV5 also offers a claimed range of 416km (WLTP), making it one of the longest range electric vans available in Australia. It sits directly behind the ID. Buzz Cargo (431 km), but ahead of the eDeliver 7 (up to 328 km) and the Ford E-Transit Custom (up to 307 km).

Measuring 4695mm long, 2255mm wide and 1899mm high with a 2995mm wheelbase, the PV5 was recently named the 2026 International Van of the Year.

It is the first model under Kia’s new Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) strategy and the brand’s first electric commercial vehicle. It is also only the second commercial model in Kia Australia’s current lineup, alongside the Kia Tasman.

The PV5 is also Kia Australia’s first van since the Pregio was discontinued around 20 years ago.

Power comes from a single electric motor driving the front wheels, paired with a 71.2kWh nickel cobalt manganese lithium-ion battery (NCM) that delivers a claimed WLTP range of 416km.
