Claude AI can now access emails, files and even perform tasks on your PC

Anthropic has been quietly adding more features to Claude, announcing two features this weekend that integrate the AI assistant deeper into your workflow and across your devices.

What did Claude just connect with?

First, Microsoft 365 integration is now available in all Claude plans, not just the Premium tiers. The update could be of utmost importance for professional users, who can now link their Outlook, OneDrive and SharePoint directly to their Claude workspace.

This allows you to drag emails, documents, and files directly into your chat with Claude without downloading and then uploading them from the respective app. Even if you’re on the free plan, your inbox and file storage can now communicate with Claude.

In my opinion, this move will result in a significant increase in productivity for a much broader audience.

Will Claude take over your Windows PC?

The second announcement will be of interest to anyone who has been following Claude’s Computer Usage feature. The feature, which allows the AI assistant to open applications, navigate browsers, fill out spreadsheets and complete desktop tasks on its own, is now available on Windows through Claude Cowork and Claude Code Desktop.

In other words, Windows users can finally hand Claude the reins of their computer. Taken together, these two updates signal Anthropic’s clear push to make the AI assistant less of a fancy chatbot that restricts its most powerful features behind a paywall and more of an active participant in your daily workflow.

The connection to the Microsoft operating system and the direct operation on a Windows PC close two of the most obvious gaps in the daily use of Claude, even for free users. These updates are part of the company’s relentless roadmap to 2026. We’ve already seen Claude Cowork launch in January this year, a plugin marketplace in February, and Memory becoming free to all users in March.
