Foldable phones have been around for years, but one of the biggest design disappointments has been the visible crease along the internal display. Luckily, this could go down in history sooner than many expected. Two upcoming devices, the Honor Magic V6 and the OPPO Find N6, will both boast wrinkle-free interior screens, apparently pushing display technology toward a smoother experience before Apple’s rumored first foldable device or Samsung’s next-gen models do.
The crease has long been a sore point with foldable devices. Even though modern book-style designs like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series have drastically reduced this compared to early devices, a visible line remains. This subtle edge can reflect light or create a slight texture under the fingertip, reminding the user that the screen is bending there.
The wrinkle-free push from Honor and OPPO
Honor’s upcoming Magic V6, set to be unveiled at MWC 2026 on March 1, has already been shown in official images on Weibo and features an internal display that appears completely flat with no visible crease lines even when viewed from an angle. Honor executives call the smoother panel a meaningful innovation, achieved without sacrificing thinness, battery life or the overall user experience.
On the other hand, OPPO’s Find N6 announces a similar jump. Early teasers highlight an internal display that has no noticeable creases, and behind-the-scenes footage suggests the panel can survive hundreds of thousands of folding cycles without forming a line. This is especially impressive considering that repeated opening and closing causes wrinkles to get worse over time.
Apple’s first foldable iPhone is expected to arrive later in 2026 or beyond and may still feature a slight crease instead of a completely seamless display. According to rumors, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 will also have a wrinkle-free OLED panel. However, it remains to be seen whether it can really deliver on its promise of being wrinkle-free. Still, for fans of big, flexible screens, 2026 could finally be the year the wrinkle starts to disappear.
