The 2026 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport has launched in Japan with a range of GR parts, but will not be coming here.
The GR Sport (Gazoo Racing Sport) has been confirmed for Australia as part of the new generation RAV4 range. The core model range will land here in the first half of 2026 and will compete against the Mazda CX-5 and Mitsubishi Outlander.
It is the first time the GR Sport model grade has been offered on a RAV4, Australia’s best-selling SUV in 2025.
The Toyota Japan catalog includes “GR Parts (for) GR Sport”, with Gazoo Racing being the brand’s global performance arm – and one of five core brands alongside Lexus, Century, Daihatsu and Toyota itself in a new strategy announced in late 2025.
However, Toyota Australia said Daily Sparkz There are currently no plans to offer GR parts for the RAV4, however there are a number of other accessories available locally for the popular SUV.

RAV4 GR parts include 20-inch x 7.5-inch wide aluminum alloy wheels, which cost the equivalent of $2,600 and offer a different look to the 20-inch black alloys that come standard on Australian models.
They use the same 235/50 tires that give the local GR Sport a 20mm greater track width compared to lower spec model grades.
A chunkier front bumper with a larger grille that’s 32mm larger than standard is also available in gloss black and gunmetal to contrast with the GR Sport’s Feverish Red hero color.
The parts also include a more aggressive rear bumper, also in gloss black and gunmetal, that sits 9mm lower than the standard rear bar, while the chunkier front and rear approaches can be connected to side skirts that sit 22mm lower than standard.
They cost around $2,500 and complement the Australian RAV4 GR Sport’s standard roof spoiler.
There’s also a GR Sport tinted side panel that extends from the front to rear passenger side window.
The biggest mechanical upgrade in the catalog is a GR Performance damper, priced at around $700, which Toyota says was designed specifically for the GR Sport.
Toyota says it offers greater rigidity for improved stability and handling and is designed for rear suspension.
This means it should be tuned to work with the GR Sport-specific front dampers, unique steering calibration and rear suspension brace that are already fitted as standard.
There are no cabin upgrades, standard equipment for Australia includes sport seats covered in Brannove leatherette with GR Sport logos, aluminum pedals and GR Sport door sills.
The range-topping GR Sport is priced at $66,340 before on-road costs in Australia. This makes it the most expensive RAV4 to date, despite price increases across the entire product range.
While most model grades will feature a carryover hybrid powertrain (not a plug-in), the GR Sport will feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain (PHEV) when it launches sometime between July and September (also available in the XSE model grade).
The Australian-market RAV4 GR Sport will be all-wheel drive only at launch, using a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) for a total output of 227kW.
A 22.7 kWh lithium-ion battery enables a claimed range of 100 km (WLTP) on electric power, with fast charging up to 50 kW for a 10-80 percent charge in 30 minutes.
The RAV4 XSE, the only other PHEV-powered model class, will be available with a choice of front- or all-wheel drive.
