The introduction of this special edition follows an optimization of the C300, the flagship of the non-AMG C-Class range, in 2025.
The price was only increased by $100, but it received a lot of additional standard equipment, including the aforementioned Digital Light LED headlights and the Burmester sound system.
In early 2025, Mercedes-Benz also cut the price of the entry-level C200 by $4,800 to $87,800 before on-road costs.
The AMG Line Plus Edition is the latest special edition of the C-Class of this generation and the first based on the C300. It follows the C200 Night Edition in 2024 and the C200 Sport Edition in 2025.
The current (W206) generation C-Class arrived here in 2022, initially only in C200 and C300 trim, the latter costing $90,400 before on-road costs.
The W206 is only offered here as a sedan, but a station wagon is also available abroad; the previous C-Class Coupé and Cabriolet was replaced by the CLE.
Mercedes-Benz delivered 3,566 C-Class sedans in Australia in 2022, a decrease of 26.4 percent.
Since then there has been a gradual decline: in 2023 there were 2625 copies sold, in 2024 there were 1943 and in 2025 there were 1425.
However, the German brand has not only expanded the C-Class range with special editions, but also last year with the introduction of the C350e plug-in hybrid, which is priced identically to the C300.
