Ford Mustang recalled | Daily Sparkz

The Ford Mustang is being recalled due to a software issue that prevents owners from being alerted that brake fluid levels are low.

9,194 Pony Cars were already recalled in 2023 due to the same issue, but now 207 vehicles are being recalled – and even if you own an affected vehicle and took it in for repairs last time, you’ll still need to go back to a dealer because an incorrect software update was made.

“Due to a software issue, the brake fluid warning light may not illuminate as intended to warn the driver when the brake fluid level is low,” Ford Australia’s recall notice says.

“Insufficient brake fluid could therefore lead to a reduction in braking performance. A reduction in braking performance could increase the risk of an accident in which vehicle occupants and other road users could be injured or killed.”

  • In total 207 vehicles are affected, produced between 2021 and 2023
  • The list of vehicle identification numbers (VIN) is attached here
  • The original recall notice is attached here

If you own an affected vehicle, you must schedule an appointment with an authorized Ford dealer to have the Body Control Module (BCM) software updated free of charge.

If you have any further questions, you can contact the Ford Customer Relationship Center on 133 673.
