The Google Pixel Buds 2a are currently available in two colors: Iris and Hazel. However, that could soon change. Google could be refreshing its affordable TWS earbuds with two new colors, and it could happen sooner than you thought.
The folks at Android Headlines seem to have gotten their hands on the “official images” of the new Pixel Buds 2a colors. One of these features a white charging case with soft green interior and earbuds, while the other has a standard charging case with bright pink accents and earbuds.
A softer green and a strong pink
The bright pink hue is similar to what we saw on the Pixel 9a’s Peony finish. Although the official names of these colors are not yet known, they are similar to the two new paint finishes rumored to be available for the Pixel 10a: Fog and Berry.
In a previous report, the publication described Fog as a “soft, creamy” shade, but I don’t think that’s the case here. There is an obvious but subtle shade of green.
On both variants, there is a thin accent band that separates the charging case lid from the case and gives the devices a cool look (especially on the bright red variant, which simply stands out).
The technical data remains the same, the release schedule is the same
Everything else about Google’s cheaper TWS earbuds, including dimensions, specs, features and their price ($129), should remain exactly the same as the Buds 2a, which launched in August 2025.
But when are the new Pixel Buds 2a coming? The report suggests that we may see them alongside the company’s upcoming A-series smartphone. Google could launch the Pixel 10a in February (or March), which would be the best time to introduce new versions of an existing product in the lineup.
