Staria
The entry-level version of the Staria – simply called Staria – costs $54,300 (excluding on-road costs), regardless of whether you opt for the 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel or the 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine.
Previously, all turbodiesel Starias were equipped with all-wheel drive; The 2.2-liter four-cylinder is now offered exclusively with front-wheel drive, but the price remains unchanged. However, the base petrol variant is now $3,800 more expensive.
Entry-level Starias get a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system (instead of 8.0 inches), but miss out on a surround-view camera. The over-the-air software update feature is now standard as part of Bluelink’s free five-year subscription to connected car services.
The base Staria is offered in an eight-seat configuration, while the Elite and Highlander have been replaced by a new seven-seat lounge flagship offered exclusively with a hybrid powertrain.
Already used in other Hyundai and Kia models sold locally, it combines a 132kW 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine with a six-speed automatic transmission and a 54kW electric motor.
The total output of the system is 180kW and 304Nm, with the Staria Lounge Hybrid replacing the previous diesel-powered Staria Highlander AWD as the most expensive variant in the range – at $73,740 before on-road costs, it is $5,240 more expensive.
The Staria Lounge is equipped with seven seats as standard and also features unique 18-inch alloy wheels, LED “four-cube” headlights, privacy glass and satin chrome door handles inside and out.
It also comes with Nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats and, compared to the old Highlander, it adds a suede headliner, heated second-row “Relaxation” seats and ambient lighting.
The lounge also features Hyundai Digital Key 2 functionality, allowing you to use your smartphone to lock, unlock and start the vehicle and share a digital key with up to 15 other devices.
The flagship Staria is available in the exclusive “Galaxy Maroon” exterior paint finish, while the interior is available with a choice of Nappa leather in obsidian black, burgundy red or beige.
Staria charge
The Staria Load is now only offered in a two-seat configuration, while the old five-seat crew van is no longer available.
The two-seater Staria Load commercial van is offered in two model classes, Load and Load Premium, with diesel, hybrid and electric drive.
The entry-level Staria Load is powered by a 130kW diesel engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and costs $49,990 (excluding on-road costs), whether you opt for the twin swing barn doors or a lift-up tailgate.
The updated base model features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system as well as the ability to over-the-air software update as part of the standard five-year Bluelink subscription.
The Hybrid is offered in both base and Premium trims and costs $53,490 or $61,240 before on-road costs.
Pricing for the Staria Load electric vehicle (EV) is yet to be announced, but it will use an 84 kWh battery and a single 160 kW electric motor driving the front wheels.
Load capacity remains unchanged for the hybrid and electric variants, which offer the same space of 4,935 liters. The hybrid has a payload of 1035kg – 42kg more than the diesel – while the electric vehicle is estimated to be around 800kg.
The Staria Load EV offers higher levels of standard equipment and includes satellite navigation, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a trailer package and Lane Following Assist 2 (lane centering).
