2026 GWM Ora 5 Price and Specifications

The GWM Ora 5the Chinese brand’s first electric SUV in Australia, will be priced from $33,990 per car when it lands in Australia.

It will arrive in Australian showrooms in June 2026 and will take on rivals such as the BYD Atto 2 and Chery E5 electric SUVs.

The Ora 5 is the second model in GWM’s Ora range of electric vehicles (EV), following the Ora hatch launched here in 2023, and offers more passenger and cargo space but a similarly curvaceous design.

Two model levels are offered, with the Lux priced at $33,990 and the Ultra adding more features – including improved audio, a panoramic glass roof and wireless phone charging – for an additional $3,000.

Taking into account the on-road costs of $31,990 before on-road costs, the $33,990 fare for the BYD Atto 2 is well below the Chery E5, which costs $36,990 before on-road costs.

In larger dimensions, the Ora 5 measures 4471mm long, 1833mm wide and 1641mm high with a wheelbase of 2720mm – 70mm longer than the Ora hatch – while offering 362 liters of cargo space.

It also has 175mm of ground clearance on standard 18-inch ‘four-leaf clover’ alloy wheels and is available in a range of exterior colors including turquoise and pink.
