There is an updated version Xpeng G6 is just around the corner, but buyers who don’t want to wait can now take advantage of special offers on the existing mid-size electric SUV.
Xpeng Australia has not yet confirmed when the updated G6, which was unveiled earlier this year, will arrive Down Under.
However, government certification documents detail the updated model, which has been approved for sale in both single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive versions.

The RWD version produces 218kW of power, up from 190kW and 210kW in the previous Standard Range and Long Range variants respectively.
The new AWD version features a 218 kW rear motor and a 140 kW front motor for a total output of 358 kW.
Battery specifications are not listed in the documents, although the G6 is now listed as towing capable (750kg unbraked, 1500kg braked).
A look at Xpeng’s German website fills in some gaps about the updated G6.
| RWD standard range | RWD Long Range | AWD performance | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 67.8 kWh | 80 kWh | 80 kWh |
| Battery chemistry | Lithium iron phosphate | Lithium iron phosphate | Lithium iron phosphate |
| Range (WLTP) | 455km | 525km | 510km |
| Energy consumption (WLTP) | 17.3 kWh/100 km | 17.5 kWh/100 km | 18.4 kWh/100 km |
| DC charging rate | 382kW | 451kW | 451kW |
| Performance | 185kW | 218kW | 358kW |
| 0-100km/h time | 6.9s | 6.7s | 4.1s |
Notably, the RWD Long Range, which previously used a nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery, has seen its range drop from 570 km, despite being slightly more powerful and having a better DC fast charging rate.
The updated G6 also features an optimized exterior design with a new full-width front light bar, rear spoiler and new wheel designs.
Inside, the 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen has been replaced by a larger 15.6-inch device, which promises a clearer display and “more comfortable and efficient operation”.
It complements the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that sits in front of a revised steering wheel that now features capacitive touch controls. The occupants sit on new “Cloud Sense” seats, and there are also some new interior design elements.
It’s not yet clear when the updated G6 will arrive Down Under, but Xpeng Australia announced deals on stock of the pre-update model this month.
If you buy a G6 and take delivery of it by November 30, 2025, you will receive five years or 100,000 km of free service and can choose between two discounts.
You can get a cashback of $3,000 or opt for Xpeng’s financing offer, which offers a fixed interest rate of 2.88 percent per year for a term of 36 months. You can view the full terms and conditions on the Xpeng website.
The G6 went on sale in Australia last year and was distributed by TrueEV. So far, the company has not reported any deliveries to the Federal Chamber of the Automotive Industry’s monthly VFACTS report or to the Electric Vehicle Council, so it is unclear how many G6s have been delivered locally.
It is Xpeng’s only model sold in Australia so far, although the company has previously confirmed it intends to offer the larger G9 SUV and X9 people mover.
The G6 competes against the best-selling Tesla Model Y as well as a range of other mid-size electric SUVs from other insurgent Chinese brands such as BYD and Deepal.
