This year’s Beijing auto show, also known as Auto China 2026, will be the largest auto show in the world this year – by far.
Auto China 2026 will take place from this Friday (April 24) to May 3, using exhibition space at both the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall) and the Capital International Exhibition Center of China for the first time.
According to the organizers, these two venues will be used to eliminate “previous limitations on the scope of the exhibition.”
The organizers assume that this year’s trade fair will take up a whopping 380,000 square meters of exhibition space and that over 1,000 exhibitors will display 1,451 vehicles.
A total of 181 world premieres will take place at this year’s show, with 71 concept cars on display at the various stands.
The media days will take place from April 24th to 25th and over 200 press conferences are planned before the trade fair opens to trade visitors on April 26th and to the general public on April 28th.
Almost every brand that sells cars in China will have a stand at the show, including Chery and its brands Exeed, iCar, Jetour and Luxeed; GWM and its brands Haval, Ora, Poer, Tank and Wey; and Geely with its eponymous brand, as well as Geely, Lynk & Co, Volvo and Zeekr.
At this point it looks like there will be a few no-shows, including Tesla, Jaguar, Land Rover, Maserati and Subaru. Chevrolet will also be absent, although fellow General Motors brands Buick and Cadillac will be present.
In addition to automobile manufacturers, various suppliers and technology companies will also be presenting their products, including BorgWarner, Bosch, CATL and Samsung. This year’s theme is “Future of Intelligence”.
The first Auto China event was held in 1990 and the massive automobile exhibition is held every two years. It alternates with the Shanghai Motor Show, which has been taking place since 1985.
Several members of the Daily Sparkz The team will be present. So stay tuned for our coverage of the show on Daily Sparkz.com.au and our social media channels.
