The 10 Best Thrift Stores to Find Deals in Austin

If you’re a bargain hunter like me, you’re constantly on the lookout for a bargain. While sales racks can be fun, I really enjoy looking for a bargain at a thrift store. There are numerous second-hand and consignment shops in and around the city Austin and knowing which ones are worth the trip can be confusing. That’s why I put together this list of the best thrift, consignment, and resale stores in the Austin area.

The 10 Best Thrift & Resale Stores in ATX

EZ Pawn Luxe

The brand new EZPAWN Luxe Store in East Austin is packed with luxury brands for resale. From bags to shoes to sunglasses and more, you’ll find brands like Chanel, Gucci and Louis Vuitton! During my visit there was even the coveted Hermes Birkin bag! Before you go, Request your 10% discount here.

Encore style

If you’re looking for designer offerings, don’t miss Style Encore. They offer high-quality handbags, shoes, jewelry, as well as dedicated sections for brands like Free People, Anthropologie, Lululemon, and more! Follow them on Instagram for notifications about new items and special offers.

Benevolence

Of course, Goodwill will be on the list. Given the abundance of places in the city, I have a few favorites. The Anderson Lane store is just a stone’s throw from Style Encore and I always stop by on a trip to the area. I also enjoy the boutique on Bee Caves Road and stores 71 and 290. The boutique is a godsend as it is very small (and has VERY limited parking) but can be a good place to pick up designer clothes and bags. If you are really looking for a great discount deal, you can access the bins at Goodwill Outlets. There are two locations in Austin and both can get pretty busy. So be patient and pack a pair of gloves because you’ll have to sort through a lot of trash. However, treasures can be found and since you pay by the pound you really can get a bargain.

Delivery of sweet peas

Sweet Peas, based in Lakeway, has carried children’s clothing for years. They now also offer women’s clothing, shoes and accessories. Everything on display is from a luxury brand or a well-known brand. Since it’s a smaller store, it’s a great place to find a real killer deal!

Thrift City

Located in South Austin, Thrift Town offers a little bit of everything except furniture. Pro tip: Check the website before your trip so you know which items are discounted that day. We also recommend joining their VIP program. For every $100 you spend, you’ll get $5 off $15 plus other great discounts.

Saver Value Village

Speaking of discounts, Savers is a great place for them. Save 20% on your purchase when you drop off clothing and household items during your visit. And if you donate items to them non-profit partner in the storethey pay you for your stuff, helping to fund important programs in the community. You can also sign up for special text-only offers and the Super Savers Club, where you can earn points for 20% off your purchase up to $100.

Hill Country Senior Thrift Store

The Hill Country Seniors Shop in Dripping Springs is full of offerings. The nonprofit Hill Country Senior Center receives a small portion of its budget through CAPCOG and through the Hays County Commissioner’s Court. But its main source of income is this thrift store. It’s a mix of items, some of which are completely random, which I love. Think of the things you might have pulled out of your grandmother’s attic and you’ll find them in this store. I walked out with old Christmas decorations, cassette tapes, vintage toys and more.

Austin Pets Alive! Thrift stores

If you love helping animals while shopping, you’ve come to the right place. All proceeds from the store help fund the innovative life-saving programs at Austin Pets Alive! This thrift store is cozy, cute, and always plays great music.

Home delivery center

There are two locations in Austin: one in Bee Cave and one near the Domain. I visit the bee cave location more often depending on the location. However, I recently purchased a folding table with gate legs. Their showroom is packed with a variety of new and used sofas, tables and more. They even have jewelry and designer handbags. If you want to consign your own stuff, they accept all types of furniture, from expensive heirlooms to trendy home goods.

Salvation Army

Along with everything else, the Salvation Army is a great place to buy furniture – especially on days off (Friday)! I usually shop at both the South Congress and Research Boulevard locations. Wednesdays are customer day with 50% off clothing, shoes, wallets, accessories and bedding. It’s a great deal, but be aware that the store will be crowded and there will be a long line to check out.

Room service vintage

Founded in 1981 on the Nordschleife, this vintage furniture store is the place to go if you’re looking for unique decor. However, their pieces sell quickly, so we encourage you to keep up to date with their exhibits Social media page.

If you’re looking for more options for shipping clothes, there are a few other places that many love. They aren’t my personal favorite, but they offer a variety of brands and options. Each of these spots has multiple locations. So check out their websites for details: Uptown Cheapskate, Buffalo Exchange And 2nd Street.
