Maven invests £15m in Chorus Intelligence to scale AI-powered digital investigative platform

Maven Capital Partners has completed a £15m investment in digital investigations specialist Chorus Intelligence, helping the fast-growing software company expand its AI-powered platform and accelerate international growth.

The deal, led by Mavens UK Regional Buyout Fund II, will support the next phase of development of Chorus, whose technology is increasingly being used by law enforcement, government agencies and corporate organizations to investigate complex digital crimes.

Founded in 2011, Chorus has spent more than a decade developing specialized software to help investigators analyze large amounts of digital information. Its tools are designed to connect multiple data sources, uncover relationships between suspects and criminal networks, and streamline the investigative process at a time when digital evidence has become a central part of modern policing and corporate security.

Central to the company’s growth strategy is the Chorus Intelligence Suite (CIS), a next-generation platform that enables multiple investigators to collaborate on analyzing complex data sets. The system automates the processing of structured and unstructured information, allowing users to connect disparate data points, identify patterns more quickly, and generate more conclusive results.

The platform has gained traction in both the UK and US markets, where law enforcement and security organizations are increasingly looking for advanced analytics tools to combat the rise in digital crime.

According to the company, CIS provides its customers with measurable efficiencies by significantly reducing the time required to process large data sets and uncover connections between people, events and digital evidence.

The £15 million investment will enable Chorus to further improve the technology behind the platform, including expanding its artificial intelligence capabilities and integrating additional automation features to improve investigative efficiency. The funding will also support the company’s international expansion plans and potential acquisitions as it seeks to consolidate a fragmented market for digital investigative tools.

Tom Purkis, (pictured) partner at Maven Capital Partners, said the investment reflected strong demand for digital intelligence tools in the security and law enforcement sectors.

“Chorus is a fast-growing company operating in a market with strong structural growth,” he said. “Digital intelligence is becoming an essential part of modern investigations.

“The company has invested heavily in technology and its next-generation platform is already delivering measurable efficiencies and return on investment for customers in the UK and US. We are pleased to support the team as they continue to scale the business and expand their international presence.”

Boyd Mulvey, founder and chief executive officer of Chorus Intelligence, said the investment is an important milestone for the company as it prepares to accelerate product development and expand globally.

“The entire Chorus team is excited to welcome Maven,” he said. “This investment marks an important step on our path to the next phase of growth.

“Maven’s expertise in scaling high-growth technology companies will be invaluable as we accelerate our AI product roadmap, expand our global footprint and continue to deliver exceptional value to our customers.”

The agreement also reflects broader trends in the security and intelligence sector, where increasing volumes of digital data and the increasing sophistication of cybercrime and organized crime are driving demand for advanced investigative technology.

Maven Capital Partners is one of the most active private equity investors in the UK, typically investing between £10m and £20m in high growth companies. The buyout team has completed 38 platform acquisitions and 26 exits to date, achieving an average return of approximately three times the original investment.

As digital crime continues to rise and investigation workloads become more complex, the market for AI-powered investigative platforms is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. Maven’s support enables Chorus Intelligence to scale its technology and compete globally in a sector where data analytics and digital evidence are quickly becoming the backbone of modern investigations.
