These folk art-inspired Easter bunny ornaments started with a happy accident. I had supplies left over from my embossed tin ornament craft project and wanted to create something special for spring and Easter. I’ve designed three original bunny templates with folk art patterns that I’m sharing with you so you can make your own Easter bunny ornaments.
Materials for these Easter bunny ornaments
I purchased these 0.005″ brass sheets from K&S locally at ACE Hardware for my other tutorial and this is what I had left.

As I mentioned earlier, I designed three folk art inspired bunny templates that you can download for free. If you enlarge the templates below they may be a little blurry, but that’s fine for tracing. On a Mac, Ctrl-click the image to save it to your device for printing. On a PC, right-click the image and select “Save Image As.”
- There are other websites that offer bunny templates. Just make sure the bunny outline is simplified and rounded to make it easier to cut out and avoid sharp edges. For example, a rabbit holding a carrot would be too complicated for this technique.
- Use a metal file to dull any sharp edges or points. This is especially true for the tips of the rabbit ears as they are sharp after cutting. So be extra careful and write them down carefully.
- Depending on the thickness of your metal, you may need hand shears for thicker sheets. I was able to use strong scissors without any problem.
