Chris Klein served as a celebrity waiter at Derrick Johnson’s Defend the Dream charity event in Austin. Before we started, we chatted with the actor, best known for his role in American Pie, about all things Texas. Here’s what happened.

First of all, in case you don’t know, Klein and his wife Laina have made their home in the Austin area since 2013. Although he is originally from Illinois and Nebraska, Klein briefly attended TCU before pursuing acting.
Since he is no stranger to Texas, we knew ours Texas This or That The quiz would be child’s play for him. What we didn’t expect was his thoughtful and detailed answers, although it was a pleasant surprise. His accent was also quite a surprise. Here is part one of our interview.
We continued discussing Dazed and Confused, Friday Night Lights (he prefers the book), Matthew McConaughey and more. Even George Strait and Willie Nelson’s Christmas albums were mentioned.
