A national product safety recall notice has been posted to the Australian Government recall database Ford F-150 Lightning Converted to right hand drive from Queensland converter AUSEV, indicating an issue that could prevent proper charging.
However, since AUSEV has filed for bankruptcy, the question remains as to how owners can get their vehicles repaired.
The AUSEV website no longer loads and when Daily Sparkz We sent an email to the info email address and received a response. And a call to the company’s phone number – 1300 911 294 – was automatically sent to voicemail.

“For vehicles equipped with a Combined Charging System (CCS2) charging port, high-power direct current (DC) fast charging may result in increased electrical resistance, resulting in overheating of the internal charging contacts,” the recall notice states.
“Please avoid charging the vehicle with DC fast chargers. Use alternating current (AC) charging instead.
“If a person has direct contact with the overheated charging port pins immediately after a charge, there is a risk of burns or serious injury.”
- In total 146 vehicles are affected, produced between 2022 and 2025
- The list of vehicle identification numbers (VIN) is attached here
- The original recall notice is attached here
The recall notice states: “Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted in writing and asked to make an appointment at their preferred AUSEV dealer to have their vehicle inspected and repaired free of charge.”
However, it is unclear where these recall measures may be carried out.
AUSEV parent company BossCap confirmed on March 17, 2026 that it had been placed into receivership.
It is assumed that around 100 employees were affected.
AUSEV was a subsidiary of BossCap, best known for importing US-made Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickups and converting them to right-hand drive in the Brisbane suburb of Brendale. It claimed Brisbane Airport and BHP were among its customers.
BossCap blamed the collapse on Ford’s December 2025 announcement of the discontinuation of the electric F-150 Lightning, which “significantly disrupted the company’s future pipeline.”
It had already moved away from converting internal combustion engine vehicles like the Ram 1500 to right-hand drive and stopped local conversions of non-electric vehicles in 2024.
While both Ford and Ram have factory-backed Australian remanufacturing operations for right-hand drive vehicles here, they only manufactured combustion engine pickups.
This had created an opportunity for conversion companies like AUSEV. While there are a number of large electric pickups in the US, from the Lightning to the Tesla Cybertruck and three separate models from General Motors, the largest electric pickups here have been the LDV eT60 and the KGM Musso EV.
