The competition for Samsung’s The Frame is getting tougher, and more and more manufacturers are jumping on the art-inspired TV bandwagon. LG recently removed the covers from its own alternative, the Gallery TV. Now Amazon has joined the fray with its Ember Artline TV.
The Amazon Ember Artline is a 4K QLED TV with a matte screen, slim interchangeable bezels and a slim 1.5-inch profile. It’s designed to closely mimic a piece of art on your wall and has some useful art software features.
Amazon says the TV includes over 2,000 free works of art and seamlessly integrates with Amazon Photos, allowing users to view their own photos when the TV is not in use. The Ember Artline is also equipped with far-field microphones that allow users to interact with Alexa+ and Amazon’s Omnisense technology, which automatically turns the Ambient Experience on or off as people enter or leave the room.
To help decide which works of art to display on the TV, Amazon has developed an AI-powered feature that can analyze up to four photos of a room to offer personalized recommendations that match the decor. The bezels can also be customized in 10 different designs so that the television fits seamlessly into any room.
Ember Artline will go on sale later this spring
In addition to these art-focused features, the Ember Artline has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, as well as Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. It will also feature the recently unveiled revamped Fire TV software, offering faster navigation and up to 30% better performance than the old version.
According to Amazon, the Ember Artline TV will go on sale this spring in the US, UK, Canada and Germany. While no specific release date has been announced, the company has confirmed that pricing for the 55-inch variant will start at $899. The TV will be available in multiple screen sizes up to 65 inches.
