2026 Skoda Octavia: Mild hybrid drive confirmed for mid-range sedan and station wagon

Skoda Australia Octavia The sedan and wagon range will be joined by a new mild-hybrid powertrain early next year.

The new entry-level model Octavia mHEV Select will slot in at the end of Skoda’s mid-range model range and take over the range-opening tasks of the pure petrol Octavia 110TSI Select. It will be available as both a sedan and a station wagon.

Also being replaced is the sportier Octavia 110TSI Sportline, as the new mHEV Select variant will be available with the option of a new Signature package, which includes a range of other premium features, including nicer upholstery and cabin comfort.

This means the Octavia range will be reduced to mHEV Select and Performance RS trims only.

Pricing for the mild-hybrid Octavia has yet to be confirmed, although Skoda says it will make an announcement in early 2026, when the new variant goes on sale alongside the Kodiaq mHEV Select large mild-hybrid SUV.

With the addition of the Octavia mHEV, Skoda Australia has made minor specification changes to the base trim Select trim.

Notably, a power tailgate and keyless entry are standard for the first time, while the alloy wheels have shrunk from 18 to 17 inches “to further improve driving comfort”.

Standard features continue to include LED headlights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, a 13.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The optional Signature package includes leather upholstery in black or cognac, electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats with position memory and massage, a head-up display, matrix LED headlights, tinted windows and 18-inch alloy wheels.

That means some features previously only available on the Octavia Sportline are no longer available, including 19-inch alloy wheels, sports seats and a hands-free electric tailgate. These features (and more) will continue to be standard on the Octavia RS flagship.
